The Behavior Technician works as part of a treatment team at the Children’s Center for Autism with the daily coaching of the Board Certified Behavior Analyst, implementing individualized Applied Behavior Analysis programs and treatment plans. Following new employee training, the Behavior Technician will meet all of the requirements to apply for the Registered Behavior Technician credential as defined by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.  The Behavior Technician provides direct one on one and small group training using Applied Behavior Analysis procedures for children with a diagnosis of autism and/or intellectual disability who display aggressive, non-compliant, and/or self-injurious behavior.  Training consists of skill acquisition for self-help skills, academic skills, social skills, communication skills, and vocational skills.  The Behavior Technician conducts preference assessments, direct observations, collects data, summarizes data, and documents training progress. Training is presented during intense one on one, requiring high levels of energy and enthusiasm maintained throughout the 6.5 hour program day. Behavior Technicians will help maintain a clean and safe environment as well as supervise daycare before or after treatment hours.
